Hello,
I was trying to post a question that includes a motion picture; when trying to include the photo, the 'insert image' selection does non let me to choose .jpgs from my computer (they're all greyed out and unavailable for uploading):confused:Not but that, when trying to get around this and attaching the photo, I keep on getting 'uploading of file failed'.:(
The picture is both modest in concrete size and in actual capacity, I know what I'm doing hither, and don't want any tips on how to go around this; just want to attach a photo to help get my question across.
Had issues before with this working, only never was I unable to even choose a .jpg (or for that matter, a .psd. The only thing I tin seemingly choose to upload is a .gif file).
Using Mac, 10.vii.4, Safari, all up to date.

If it's under 800 pixels, try waiting. I had the same problem and waited to the adjacent morning and it worked

Still, no photo in .jpg format, large or small, can exist called by my calculator. They're there but grayed out, as if they were an incompatible format.
Attachments don't work either, although I tin can choose them, I can't upload them. 'Upload of file failed' every @%$!# time.
I seem to have problems uploading photos almost every time I accept to, I dunno why, my estimator and skills are certainly capable, but never was I unable to fifty-fifty choose a file…

Lamentable Doug, I don't know what you're talking about. I've uploaded dozens of pictures earlier, never had to 'change a default type to .jpg' and equally I said I tin see my files simply fine, I merely can't select them to upload; they're grayed out:mad:
Every bit far as I can see there'south goose egg to modify, merely 'Insert Image', 'cull file' and 'upload prototype'. Done it dozens of times, as I mentioned.

After clicking Browse, you lot should see yous pictures folder on your computer. The filetype box has a dropdown to choose the filetype. It defaults to .gif and then you lot have to select the .jpg choice to see your jpegs.
Check out the Uploading video in my signature.

I constitute the problem, I think.
Hither's Safari'due south version of the box:
THERE IS NO BROWSE Push!!! When choose file is selected, that'southward when my photo listings are at that place and all greyed out. Here's Firefox's version of the same box:
As you tin can see, there is a 'Browse' button and all works well when loading a photo; I striking browse, tin come across and select my photos easily.
Everyone else there with a mac running Safari having these problems?

The same thing happens in Safari on the iPad, I have found a workaround which allows pictures to be attached by reference to a Photobucket app.
See the thread at the height of Site Discussions.

Glad you lot institute the problem Alan. I was scratching my head over it.
Me too, Ron. I use Safari, my girl uses Firefox, I just have to remember to use Firefox if I need to upload a picture.
I can't go across how maddening it is to try to upload a photo, and have every i on my computer being listed but grayed out and unavailable for selecting. I surely promise any other Safari users don't have this problem, or at to the lowest degree try a different browser quicker than I did (information technology took me 24 hrs. to finish doing the same stuff that didn't work and endeavor a different browser)

I would send an error written report the the Safari team as I think they would want to know about information technology.
I practice know how maddening that sort of matter can be. I practice some programming in C++ and sometimes something that should accept v minutes can take days to go working.

Alan,
Try doing what someone suggested to me a long, long time agone for loading photos.
In the second, blueish toolbar down from the top, discover "Quick Links", and click it.
Detect "Image Uploader" way at the bottom of the card, and click it.
Click "Browse" to select a photograph from your computer.
Press "Open". Photo will be displayed in the uploader box.
To transport that photo to the location of your blinking cursor inside your text message, merely click somewhere within that displayed photo, and y'all will accept uploaded your photo to your text reply in the open forum. (It also works for uploading photos when you are writing a Private Message.)
This is about the simply method I've used for uploading photos since I've been on Wet Sail. Information technology seems to have less problems than the other methods mentioned.

Detect "Image Uploader" way at the lesser of the carte du jour, and click it.
Click "Browse" to select a photo from your reckoner.
Press "Open". Photo will be displayed in the uploader box.
To transport that photo to the location of your blinking cursor within your text message, simply click somewhere inside that displayed photo, and you will have uploaded your photo to your text reply in the open forum. (It as well works for uploading photos when yous are writing a Individual Message.)
This is about the only method I've used for uploading photos since I've been on Wet Canvas. It seems to accept less problems than the other methods mentioned.
Hi Beak,
The problem is, there is no "Browse" choice in the Safari browser. There'southward a "Choose File" button instead, which, for some wacky reason, lists all files anywhere on my reckoner but grays them out as if they weren't photos (when in fact, they are). In that location'due south some pix before in the thread showing the difference betw. the Safari window and the Firefox one. The buttons should be doing the aforementioned affair, merely the "Browse" in Firefox works, while the "Cull File" does not. -
